I want to buy a web hosting business that already has customers , but I'm not sure what skills and knowledge are needed .
I own several websites and know basic knowledge about uploading a website , URL's , and know that the server space has to be leased and resold to customers according to their bandwidth and size of site .

However, Do I need to know Unix , Linux , or Perl or other programming languages ? If so , can this be out sourced reasonably ?

I'm trying to change the outgoing vacation message in Gmail. It keeps remembering my old message (which talks about January but I want to to say 'May' instead!) and it keeps putting the old message up. And yes, I've tried everything from quitting Safari, rebooting, deleting the old message and saving it blank (doesn't work), all the most logical options. It's a brand-new-out-of-the-box iMac so probably not the computer's fault. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just became a reseller with makemoneysellingdomainnames to resell web hosting and domain names. I joined because I build a decent amount of websites for my own use. I was wondering why a lot of webmasters and IT people aren't in the reseller business. I drive a taxi and talk with a lot of IT people and almost none of them take advantage of controlling the cost for web hosting. Isn't this strange? Any comments welcome.

I would like to start a small business web site. I will need help designing the site and I have been told that I will need web hosting. Can someone explain what hosting includes and what I should expect to pay for hosting per month?

Here's what I am looking to do:

I want to collect names and e-mail addresses on my web site so people can sign up for me e-newsletter.

I just want people to fill in a name field, an e-mail field, and click submit. Then, I want the emails sent to me and the user gets forwarded to the next page of the site.

I'm looking for software that's free, easy to use (for someone like me with very basic, static html knowledge), and does not have advertising on it.
